The new Citizen Self Service (CSS) portal is the web hub for all online services provided by the Township. This new service allows citizens to submit applications online, pay fees, check application results, search for open records, and much more. 

2020 General Election Voting Updates

On August 14, 2020, New Jersey Governor Philip Murphy signed Executive Order No. 177 which requires a vote-by-mail ballot for the November 3, 2020 General Election be mailed to every active, registered voter. This Executive Order aims to ensure voters preserve their constitutional right to vote while upholding the priority of public health during the COVID-19 public health emergency.

COVID-19 Update from Mayor Chris Vergano:

The State of New Jersey has advised us that they have zero new COVID-19 deaths to report for today for Wayne Township. Unfortunately, we have lost 197 residents to this pandemic. Our condolences go out to the families of all the precious residents that we have lost.

I can also report that we have 3 positive test results from today's report. Our total positive number is now at 1641. The State of New Jersey also has informed us that 7,097 people from Wayne that were tested, tested negative. We need to continue our social distancing.

Our new positive cases for today include 3 females ages 28, 25 and 48.

Water Hydrant Flushing Program


Please be advised that Hydrant Flushing will begin starting Sunday, September 13th, and running approximately 4 – 6 weeks.  Flushing of the water mains will take place during the hours of 11:00 pm until 7:00 am Sunday night to Friday morning.

The Wayne Township Health Department, along with Wayne Township Office of Emergency Management, is monitoring this rapidly evolving situation closely. We are in regular contact with the Passaic County Health Department, NJ Department of Health (NJDOH), and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to ensure that accurate and timely information is being provided.

Announcements from the Division of Revenue

logoPlease be advised that the Township has started to send out Estimated 3rd qtr bills that will be due August 1st-10th.

While this bill is an estimate it still has the same status as a regular tax bill and may be paid without interest until 8/10/2020. After 8/10/2020, interest will revert back to 8/1/2020. Once we receive a Tax Rate from the County, hopefully in September, we will be mailing an actual bill for 4th 2020, 1st, and 2nd of 2021. With the Township only controlling 20% of our tax bills, our major responsibility is attempting to keep our tax base as stable as possible.  I am proud to commend our Township employees for continuing to do a fantastic job with a sleeker workforce!

Finance Budget

Each year, Wayne Township prepares an annual budget that is approved by the Township Council and the State of New Jersey. This process starts when the municipal department hands submit their budget proposals for review by the Business Administrator and the Finance Department.  After review and revision, the budget is introduced to the Township Council for approval. If approved by the Council, the budget is then submitted to the Division of Local Government Services in Trenton for its review and approval.
