Special Information Session


The Township of Wayne announces that it will be holding a public information session to advise residents of the status of the Township’s Mount Laurel/Affordable Housing obligations and its plans to meet those obligations. This public information session will occur on February 26, 2020 at 7pm in the Council Chambers of Wayne Township, located at 475 Valley Road.

The DEP and DOH have issued updated advisories for 2019 to incorporate results of new fish sampling for lakes, ponds and reservoirs that flow into the Upper Delaware River and the Passaic River Regions. ATTENTION TANF, GA and NJ SNAP recipients: The following resources are available for information regarding the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), including updated amounts for the 2018 tax filing year.

White goods and scrap metals can be picked up by appointment!

Pick-ups are scheduled weekly and are picked up Wednesday through Friday.

White Goods items consist of appliances: Full size Stove/Oven, Dishwasher, Microwave, Washer, Dryer, Refrigerator/Freezer (doors must be removed) Dehumidifier/Humidifier, Air Conditioner

Large Scrap Metals are items that are made predominantly of metal: Cast Iron Sink, Exercise Equipment, Grill, Fire Pit, Metal Furniture, Bed Frames, Lawn Mower, Snow Blower (empty of gasoline/oil), Cabinet, Tools, Light Fixtures, Fencing, Basketball Hoop (separating plastic backboard/base from the metal)

The Township of Wayne Division of Water is a purchaser of water from the North Jersey District Water Supply Commission (NJDWSC). We were notified that the NJDWSC did not meet the treatment requirements and violated a drinking water requirement. The Township of Wayne-Division of Water is required to notify its customers of this event. More information is available

Finance Budget

Each year, Wayne Township prepares an annual budget that is approved by the Township Council and the State of New Jersey. This process starts when municipal department hands submit their budget proposals for review by the Business Administrator and the Finance Department.  After review and revision, the budget is introduced to the Township Council for approval. If approved by the Council, the budget is then submitted to the Division of Local Government Services in Trenton for its review and approval.

Public TV and Emergency AM Radio

WayneAM1690Wayne Emergency Radio, AM 1690, broadcasts notifications of emergent situations affecting the Township. The system is a special low power broadcast approved by the FCC designed primarily for on-street or outdoor coverage. They system also monitors the National Weather Service and automatically re-broadcasts any weather related notifications in our area. Additionally, since the system is a special low power broadcast design for on street coverage, we also stream the broadcast on the Internet.
