Flushing Program 2023

The Wayne Township Water Department announced today that its annual systematic flushing of the Township’s water system will begin at 11:00pm on September 10, 2023 and should be completed in four (4) to six (6) weeks. Flushing of the water mains will take place during hours of 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM, Sunday night to Friday morning.

The Water Department asks the cooperation of all residents in using a minimal amount of water during these hours. Temporary discoloration of the water may result from flushing, therefore, water should be allowed to run long enough so as to allow any sediment in the lines, including laundry areas, in the home to clear. Should discoloration continue for more than one hour, please call the Township Water Division office at (973) 694-5090, between the hours of 7:00 am and 3:30pm.
