2026 Tax Rate Update

As of July 17, 2026, the 2026 Final/2027 Preliminary Tax Bills have been updated and the amounts due are available on our website for viewing or payment.
The bill is currently being prepared for printing and mailing and should be in the mail by July 24, 2026.

The new grace period for the 3rd Quarter and ONLY the 3rd Quarter 2026 will be extended to August 19, 2026. Any payments received after August 19, 2026, will accrue interest to the original due date of August 1, 2026 per statute.

 

Our Nurses do their best to keep infants, children, and adults in tiptop shape! Our Health Educator strives to keep everyone updated as to the latest health information available. Our Sanitarians do everything possible to keep our food and environment clean and safe.  At the Wayne Health Department our goal is to work together, as a team, to prevent illness and improve the health of our community. With that in mind, we have designed programs, clinics, and screenings to promote, gain, and maintain good health.

Blood Chemistry Profile

The SMAC Blood Chemistry Profile is offered for a nominal fee two times per year (usually in April and October). This service is performed by an outside lab. It includes a comprehensive cardiac risk profile, as well as information regarding white and red blood cell counts, glucose, triglycerides, cholesterol (LDL and HDL ratios), and more. Some additional screenings are available to participants for an additional fee. For more information call 973-694-1800 ext. 3281.

Child Health Conference (Well Child Clinic)
The Child Health Conference is open to Wayne Township, Pompton Lakes & Totowa residents with no health insurance. This program provides infants, preschool and school aged children (until their 18th birthday) with a full examination and age appropriate immunizations performed by a licensed pediatrician. At each clinic session parents are counselled regarding growth, development, nutrition, and safety.

Dental Health Clinic
The Dental Clinic is provided to children and adults of Wayne Township, Pompton Lakes and Totowa ages 5 and up with no dental insurance. Services are provided by a licensed Dentist. Appointments are required.

Flu Clinic
The Wayne Health Department encourages residents to get their seasonal flu shot.  These clinics are offered to Wayne Township residents over the age of 6 months old.

Lookin’ Good Aerobics
Lookin’ Good Aerobics classes are offered two times per week for a total of 20 classes. Space is limited and the fee is $40. Classes incorporate resistance and strength training with light weights, bands, and balls. Aerobic activity may include the use of a step and/or gliders. Yoga
The Wayne Health Department offers In-person Yoga programs in Room #2 of the Wayne Health Department. Class sizes are limited and pre-registration is required.
Participants are encouraged to bring a yoga mat, two blocks, as well as a light blanket to class. A yoga strap would be helpful but is not necessary. Visit Wayne Township’s website or call 973-694-1800 Ext. 3281 for more information.
