Colleen Celmer Group Fitness Instructor

I’m a POUND® Rockout. Workout. Pro and indoor cycling instructor who’s passionate about combining music and movement to create an energizing, empowering experience in every class. In Pound, there’s nothing better
than seeing participants experience love at first strike and leave feeling strong, confident, and inspired.

I’m also a ridiculously optimistic person who believes in finding the magic in the ordinary. Outside the studio, I enjoy concerts, photography, and sunsets. I’ll always have a soft spot for the Muppets, Minions, Mickey, and Kermit the Frog.

Sophie Yenowitz Zumba Instructor

Originally from England, Sophie has been teaching Zumba for over six years from classic Zumba® and Aqua Zumba® to Zumba Gold® and Zumba Toning®. Her classes are fun, welcoming, and full of community spirit.

Sophie believes fitness should make you smile, and in her class there are no wrong moves, only accidental solos! Everyone’s welcome, every time.

When she’s not dancing, she’s keeping up with her twin daughters and spreading good vibes wherever she goes!”

Katherine Teran Zumba Instructor

I’ve been a licensed Zumba instructor since 2016. I’m also certified in Strong Nation and Aqua Zumba. I’m a proud mom of four and have four pets — yes, it’s a lot of work, but I love it!

My weakness is chocolate cake, but I always make sure to enjoy it the day before a Zumba class — that way, we burn off those calories together! That’s my little secret.

I’m passionate about creating fun, high-energy workouts that make people feel strong, confident, and happy. Can’t wait to dance and sweat with you all!

Rhaea Santiago Yoga Instructor

I’m a registered yoga teacher (RYT-200), who loves to share the benefits of yoga, both in body and mind. I’ve been a fitness enthusiast for years, enjoying cardio and weight-lifting, but something was missing. My yoga journey started as a supplement to my fitness routine, but it is now an essential part of it.

I enjoy teaching various styles of yoga, including dynamic vinyasa / power yoga, yoga sculpting, and gentle flows. Anything to bring the “zen-ergy”. Fun fact: I’m a dog lover and have two crazy ones at home. Sometimes they join me on my yoga mat, as we stretch into downward dog.

Jenn Cooper Group Fitness Instructor

Jenn leads a diverse range of classes including spin, strength training and HIIT delivering high-energy, results-driven workouts to every session. She is also certified to teach all three MOSSA programs offered at our facility:
Group Power, Group Active, and Group Centergy. Her goal is to help people move better, feel stronger, and discover what their bodies are truly capable of—all while keeping things upbeat and motivating.

Beyond the fitness floor, Jenn enjoys quality time with her husband, Dave, and their children, Kaitlyn and Josh. Her family also includes two beloved dogs, Cooper and Charlie, who keep her active and entertained.

Donna Tellian Fitness Instructor

In 2023, I was honored to receive the LaBlast Instructor of the Year award — a highlight of my career and a reminder of how powerful movement can be.

Carol Scanlon Group Fitness Instructor

Carol has been a group fitness instructor for over 15 years, and I still love every minute of it! My favorite class to teach is a high-energy Bootcamp HIIT session, but I also enjoy leading cardio kickboxing and heavy bag boxing workouts. I’m certified to teach step and floor Pilates as well, and I like to keep my classes fresh, fun, and challenging.

I have a passion for working with people of all ages and abilities—including special needs young adults and seniors—helping them discover the joy and confidence that comes from movement. Teaching group fitness has
given me the opportunity to connect with so many incredible people and share my love of fitness in a supportive, motivating environment.

I truly believe in practicing what I preach and make it a priority to stay strong, healthy, and fit right alongside my participants!

Karen Simone Group Fitness Instructor

I’ve always been an exercise enthusiast and began teaching fitness classes in my early 20s. I am CPR/AED certified and hold multiple certifications from AFAA and AAAI/ISMA, including Mat Pilates, Older Adult Fitness, Chair Yoga, Mind Body, Step, Spin/Cycling, Personal Training, and Weight Training.

Currently, I teach Mat Pilates, Low Impact with Weights, and Stretching/Flexibility/Relaxation classes. My goal is to create an encouraging environment where participants feel comfortable, have fun, and can adapt movements to their own fitness levels. No matter which class I’m leading, I always emphasize proper form and safe technique.

Outside of teaching, I’m married, have four children, and recently became a proud grandmother to the most beautiful baby girl — I can show you pictures!!

Chrissy Mistretta Fitness and Yoga Instructor

Meet Chrissy – I’m here to help you reconnect with your body, move with joy, and feel as good as you were designed to feel.

It brings me great joy to have spent the last 20 years helping humans of all ages, shapes and sizes move, sweat, breathe — and occasionally laugh — their way toward feeling awesome.

Whether you join me in a mind / body Yoga class, feel powerful in a strength class, flow and sing with me through PIYO, or hop on the bike and sweat it out in a Spin session…we will have fun, work hard, and feel amazing together.

Please come join me — in one or all of my offerings — here at the Wayne Community Center

It is truly my pleasure to create and lead you through an hour of healthy “YOU” time.

Fun Fact: I love to sit quietly in the woods and watch the wildlife… the locals visit me often for treats!

Cristian Xavier Yoga Instructor

I’m a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) with Yoga Alliance, trained through The American Yoga Academy. My yoga journey began in 2019 after a back injury that limited my range of motion. Through Restorative Yoga, I learned how slow, mindful movement can rebuild strength, ease tension, and support healing in a gentle and accessible way.

That experience inspired me to share these practices with others. Today, I specialize in restorative and mindfulness-based yoga, offering gentle, isometric practices that help release tension, calm the nervous system, and promote a deeper connection between body and mind. The Shavasana element of class, in particular, reminds us to slow down and appreciate the simple beauties of life that are often overlooked. Each class encourages students to move at their own pace, honoring their body’s unique needs and experiences.

My classes are truly for everybody and I mean everyBODY. Whether you’re brand-new to yoga, returning after injury, or simply seeking a softer practice, you are welcome here.

Fun fact: When I’m not teaching yoga, you can probably find me listening to show tunes or hanging out with my chocolate lab, Prince.

Linda Dumoff, RYT Yoga Instructor

I’m honored to share the practices of Hatha Yoga, Energy Medicine Yoga, and Primordial Centered Meditation with you.

I took my first yoga class in 2001, and the experience deeply moved me. After a decade of dedicated personal practice, I felt called to teach and have been guiding others in yoga and meditation since 2011.

I am a registered member of Yoga Alliance and completed my 300-hour training with the American Yoga Academy in December 2011. Over the years, I’ve continued to enrich my studies, earning certifications in ChildPlay Yoga with Gurudass Kaur Khalsa, Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra (40-hour training, 2017), and Energy Medicine Yoga (certified in 2021).

In my classes, I strive to cultivate a warm, welcoming space where students can move, breathe, and reconnect with inner calm, vitality, and balance. It is my joy to support others on their journey toward greater awareness and transformation.

Outside of teaching, I love expressing my creativity through painting and art. With a background in textile design, I continue to enjoy exploring color and pattern. I’m also nourished by hiking, connecting with nature, and playing music.

Alex Tai Chi and Qigong Instructor

Alex Perkel is a certified Tai Chi and Qigong instructor with extensive and advanced training, including studies at the world-famous Shaolin Monastery in China (2002 and 2006). He has been teaching Tai Chi and Qigong since 2012, sharing the rich traditions and health benefits of these arts with students of all ages.

In 2008, Alex earned the title of Doctor of Metaphysical Science, deepening his understanding of mind-body connection, meditation, and holistic wellbeing.

From 2012 to 2017, he competed in the U.S. Open Martial Arts Championship, earning multiple gold medals and receiving the “Dragon Warrior Award” in 2013. He is also certified through the Arthritis Foundation Tai Chi Program and has completed Instructor Training Workshops focused on movement for health and wellness.

Alex’s training specialties include Qigong Healing Forms, which improve circulation, strengthen internal organs, enhance flexibility, and support bone health. His Tai Chi classes emphasize balance, relaxation, cardiovascular improvement, and internal energy cultivation. One of Alex’s favorite class styles is Tai Chi Weapons, including Sword, Broadsword, Kung Fu Fan, Shaolin Cane for self-defense, and Whip Staff techniques. His classes are open to beginners, seniors, and experienced practitioners.

What Alex enjoys most about teaching is watching students grow in confidence, peace, and physical strength as they progress in their practice.
