Mission and Values Statement

We, the members of the Wayne Township Police Department, exist to serve all people within our jurisdiction, regardless of race, color, sex, religious creed, national origin, or sexual orientation, with respect, fairness, and compassion. We are committed to the prevention of crime and the protection of life and property; the preservation of peace, order and safety; the enforcement of laws and ordinances; and the safeguarding of constitutional guarantees. With community service as our foundation, we are driven by goals to enhance the quality of life, investigate problems, seek solutions, and foster a sense of security in our communities and every individual therein. We will nurture public trust by holding ourselves to the highest standards of performance and ethical conduct. To fulfill our mission, the Wayne Township Police Department is dedicated to providing a quality work environment and the development of its members through effective training and leadership. The Wayne Police Department, under the command of Chief Jack McNiff, and is located in the municipal complex at 475 Valley Road.

The department is made up of 3 divisions: Patrol, Investigations, and Operations. Each Division is supervised by a Captain and each Captain reports directly to the Chief of Police.

The Office of the Chief of Police consists of the Chief, an office Secretary, Internal Affairs Unit, and Policy Manager.

Policy Manager

The Policy Manager is responsible for maintaining, evaluating, and periodically recommending updates for the Wayne Police Department Manual. The manual consists of policies and directives that members of the Wayne Police Department follow in the course of their daily duties. The manual is constantly reviewed to guarantee the policies and directives are consistent with changes in laws and procedures and well as the needs of the community.
