The new grace period for the 3rd Quarter and ONLY the 3rd Quarter 2026 will be extended to August 19, 2026. Any payments received after August 19, 2026, will accrue interest to the original due date of August 1, 2026 per statute.

With the summer months upon us, it is likely that many teens will want to be out driving around with friends, especially at night. The purpose of New Jersey’s Graduated Driver’s License law is to protect new drivers from distractions that have led to many fatal crashes in the past. The law has had a dramatic positive effect across the state with significant reductions in teen deaths over the last several years. The Wayne Police Department asks that all drivers be careful this summer and respect the law as it pertains to Graduated Driver’s Licenses. In an effort to make our roadways safer, the Wayne Police will make an increased effort this summer to enforce GDL violations.
